wow! customer service

It seems that customer service has nearly become non-existent. In the age of big box stores and disappearance of neighborhood stores where you know everyone, I actually had a surprisingly excellent customer service experience! My home's previous owner had installed all new Smith & Noble honey comb insulating blinds on 10 second floor windows a few months before I moved here. Slowly over the past 4 years the pulls disintegrated. A couple of years ago I received new pulls, but more disintegrated. Then, a couple of months ago one cord broke and disappeared into the blind mechanism. I finally got around to calling Smith & Noble. I was expecting them to say "no, sorry, not covered", which I did get initially. After I gave the customer service person all the info about the blinds, she then told me they would send me a new blind and new pulls within the next 3 weeks. I was kind of blown away! The blind is probably $200'ish. Didn't think I would get that. But, my pessimistic side says, we'll see....

Anyway, Smith & Noble has beautiful window coverings. I owe them a little plug:
