Numbers @ 3 years

Birhane finally had her 3 year pedi appt.

Height 39 3/4 inches (95%tile)

Weight 36.6# (90%tile)

BMI 16.2 (65%tile)

Yeah! Birhane is such a big eater I started thinking we should maybe back off on the amount of food, but the numbers tell another story. She's right where she's supposed to be. Slowly losing the belly and getting taller and thinner, but definitely not FTT skinny!

I'm trying to start her on Claritin to see if that will help with the runny nose. This girl loves medicine, but Claritin is the first she has refused to drink it all. Bummer that CVS had that special buy one, get one 50% off. Me=sucker.

I still have a slight concern about her speech. She is speaking in sentences and has a large vocabulary, but strangers have difficulty understanding her. She was evaluated by early intervention at about 20 months and she was "low norm" then, with everything else at or above age level. If we don't get anywhere with early intervention, I'm going to go to private speech therapy. I keep hanging on the edge about this and think she could benefit from speech therapy, even if it was only 6 months. There's no cognitive issues. Her receptive language has always been fab.

She's a delightful, kind, gentle, sensitive girl. She's been getting tons of positive attention wherever we go lately. Tons of "She's so beautiful.", "What a nice girl.", "She's so cute.". I'm such a proud mom.

We arrived home to a bday package from Australia. A pink, shiny purse with Dora jewelry inside and a cute koala towel. She's got the jewelry and purse on and won't likely take it off until bedtime;). Thank you Aussie family.

I also bought a new dress for Amy and Mitchell's Des Moines wedding in 1.5 weeks. New shoes AND new jewelry! I've only bought new tennis shoes in the past 2 years. Nice to buy 2 new pairs of sandals. Schulers has a great sandal sale on right now.

Oh, and on my way over to Hanna for their sale, I stopped in a store I new nothing about... Naartjie. I found some very cute, Matilda Jane - like clothes and picked up an outfit for B for next summer. And, yeah, the Hanna sale was great. They were just doing further markdowns from what I had seen online with a much better selection in-store. Plus, they are giving out coupons for the fall preview in July for 20% with a purchase.

Ok, you aren't reading this for a shopper update. I'm excited to be stimulating the economy again.
